Interns, Externs & "Mentorens"

Interesting that a non traditionaly educated culinarian would have so many opportunities to teach. The Big Picture High School Mentoring program is potentially spectacular. A high school student gets to "check out" or shadow a job. No social studies or geometry... but the real world. No study halls or set back tournaments to pass their day. They do basically what people "living" the job are doing. No class, then lunch, then giggle with friends. Work, then work, then more work. If this hits the correct nerve they may find their future or at least learn what they don't want to do. As with the last blog, basics are where they begin. Wash your hands, hairnet or hat, apron......then they are MINE!!!
